Numerous celebrities have used Nathan’s images for social media, including Justin Bieber, Hailee Steinfeld, Kelsea Ballerini, Shawn Mendes, Tori Kelly, and Camila Cabello. Recently, Nathan was featured on The Bokeh Podcast, a podcast exploring the ever-blurring lines between the personal and business lives of professional photographers. Nathan has also recently been featured on The Leica camera Blog for his work with the Leica Q2 at the 2019 American Music Awards. People magazine published Nathan’s work for Wells Fargo & Thomas Rhett’s partnership benefitting Feeding America around the 2019 American Music Awards.

Nationally published music photographer Nathan Armstrong has photographed today’s hottest country, rock, and pop musicians. Born in Chicago and raised in Memphis, he relishes the opportunity to capture moments that define the artists and events that impact our culture. He is the creative force behind 901Music, a popular online music publication that provides live coverage and real-time, high quality content to social media platforms with over 75,000 followers across all accounts before, during, and after music events across the United States.

Nathan has photographed the biggest names in music including Taylor Swift, The Jonas Brothers, Justin Bieber, One Direction, Selena Gomez, Ariana Grande, Justin Timberlake, Drake, Ed Sheeran, Diana Ross, Sir Paul McCartney, Niall Horan, Harry Styles, Coldplay, Shawn Mendes, Thomas Rhett, Khalid, Madonna, BTS, Mariah Carey, Steven Tyler, Cardi B, The Eagles, Billy Joel, Missy Elliott, and The Chainsmokers. He has worked in cities across North America, including Chicago, Dallas, Los Angeles, Toronto, Nashville, Las Vegas, Orlando, Austin, Atlanta, Salt Lake City, San Francisco, Maui, New York City, Boston, and Memphis.

Nathan works to convey the emotion and vibrancy of the live events he covers – over 250 concerts, festivals, and award shows to date. Events include the CMA Fest, Okeechobee Fest, iHeart Radio Country Fest, iHeart Radio Jingle Ball Tour, American Music Awards, Billboard Music Awards, iHeart Canada’s MMVAs, CMT Awards, and KIIS FM’s Wango Tango.

As a young photographer working his first gig at Walt Disney World, Nathan always appreciated the sage advice of more experienced colleagues. Today he enjoys mentoring students who are passionate about the medium as he recently taught an Audio, Video, and Lighting Production course at a Memphis area high school.
